Giacomo Puccini is one of the most famous composer in the opera history of Italy.He wrote 12 opera in his whole life. He created one after another excellent operawith his creative talent and exquisite craftsmanship. The main characteristics of hisopera are graceful and singable with deep sorrowful meloday, changeable andcolourful orchestrations and violent dramatic effects. The theme of his opera is love,in which "love and death" penetrate most of his opera. What reveals in his opera isthe emotional life of ordinary people. Because of this, his opera always make theaudience be moved with tears. His opera have become eternal classies up to now.Dramatise is an indispensable factor in opera creation. Whether an opus is goodor not depends on whether it has strong dramatic effect,whether it has dramaticplots to attract audience, whether it arranges complex relationships between thecharacters with striong dramatic conflicts. Opera differ from musical play, for evena musical play has no dramatic plots, it can create dramatic conflicts through theeffects of stage, light,makeup and acoustic effect.While an opus embodys itsdramatic effect only through the combination of its music and text. Only by highlymerged between music and text can it be called a good opus which deeply moves theaudience.The purpose of this paper is to give a general introduction of Pu's creation, toclear up the concept of dramatise and musical dramatise in opera, to analyse thestrong dramatic effects through text and music, which reveals the strong dramaticeffect in Turandot and proves why Turandot has become an rare classics and it lastsforever.
