Writing is always considered as the most difficult skill of the four basicskills to teach and to learn in a TCSL program. And it's also the weakestpoint of the four, because there are not so many studies on the teachingapproaches.This essay is about a comparative study on the product approach and theprocess approach in Teaching Chinese Writing, trying to find an effectiveway to teach writing in the TCSL scenario.Through the research work, the author finds out that some problemsexisting in the teaching of Chinese writing are mainly caused by theproduct approach. Then contrast experimental method is adopted in theresearch. Students of two classes in Middle-level(HSK3) are randomlyarranged in the study, one is for product approach and the other is for theprocess approach.The result shows that the process approach is quite useful in theChinese-writing teaching of TCSL, but to use it efficiently requiresteachers' hard work and the comprehensive knowledge about the learnersin the class.
