Castle, an epitome of the world, is the final and most important novel written by Austrian writer Ferlan Kafka and also a classical one of modernism. The hero K is a model of human nature and the age. Like Kafka, Chinese modern writers live in a society of turbulence and reform. Therefore, both sides are concerned with the same cultural states and common cultural spirits and both have described human survival conditions of the complicated society of the 20th century.I selected three literature novels from Chinese modern literary works: In Restaurant, Thunderstorm and Besieged city as the parallel comparison research with "Castle". The purpose is, based on the reflection of the essence of human survival, to explore things in shared by both sides. We have discovered the profound coincidence shared both them. This research is helpful for understanding the deep connotation of Castle, as well as the survival conditions of the 20th century and the spirits of the age.We found through comparison and analysis that, Both Restaurant and Castle manifest what is shared by Lu Xun and Kafka, that is, pursuing exists as a living condition. Restaurant and Castle show the plight of human survival under the severe pressure of the realistic society. The individual person always drifts and floats with suspension. On the other hand, behavior of characters in Thunderstorm and Castle not only is an indication of the will of the character themselves, but also that of the destiny. And although their ideal is disillusioned repeatedly, but ideal itself does not vanish actually, but is always sparkling with beautiful glory.
