A Comparative Study Of Kobo Abe And Kafka’s Writing Features

Kafka and Kobo Ade,The former is one of the greatest writers of the twentieth Century,the latter also has the reputation of ‘Kafka of Japan’.From the perspective of Comparative Literature,this paper mainly compares their representative works The Castle and Woman in the Dunes and,further,combs their relationship of literary creation to have a clearer understanding.Besides,this paper analyze their similar and difference thinking about the absurd world,the plight of human existence and how to solve them.At the same time,the reasons for this thinking also are the focus of discussion.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter introduced Kafka meeting with Kobo Abe.It mainly through the rise and development of research of Kafka,and the translation and dissemination status of his works in Japanese,reproduces the objective environment and the possibility of their meeting.On this basis,It inspects the Abe’s acceptance of Kafka’s works.In the second chapter,It mainly discusses Abe creation characteristic,namely the common characteristics of the work,such as the theme of world’s absurdity and life’s distortion,as well as in the similar framework,How these themes unfolds in their works.The third chapter mainly discusses how it is different in attitudes and solutions when facing world’s absurdity and life’s distortion.The innovation of the paper is explores the social reality and problems in man’s survival plight reflected by Kafka and Abe’s works.Based on the similar life experiences and Abe himself admitted that kafka is very important to him,their works presented the similar features.However,due to individual differences,they also show the different attitudes in the aspect of how to solve the man’s survival plight.Kafka and Abe’s works actually are writer’s recreation of world’s absurdity and life’s distortion by means of literature artistic.Delve into their works not only helps to combs their relationship of literary creation,and still has important significance to contemporary life.
