This essay finds the new meaning contained in the characters and the relationship between the characters in the book Robinson Crusoe form the religion-ethics view, hoping the religion-ethics view could acquire its deserved meaning and position.On the basis of the existing research finding, the author makes an overall analysis of the book Robinson Crusoe by doing comparison from various perspectives including the view points adopted by previous researchers.At last the author draws his conclusion that Robinson is not only a typical exploiter colonialist from bourgeoisie but also a puritan. The spirit embodied in Robinson is consistent with the puritan ethics and meanwhile Robinson's behavior is also affected and restrict by puritan ethics. Robinson is the character who perfectly represented two identities: "economic person" and "ethical person".
