The initial stages of new literature of China are an epoch of the disenchantment of both human being and modern literary style. The emancipation of the literary style is the illustrious fruits of the new culture movement. The literary revolution of the May 4th Movement of 1919 was aroused by the requisition of mind's emancipation, which had the reform of format as the beginning and established the foundation of the development of new literature. The fiction as a kind of popular literary style, its self-consciousness was developed in the stage of the May 4th Movement of 1919.In the initial stages of China's new literature, on the one hand, fictionists collected the literary thoughts of the West; on the other hand, they hade to re-examine the old-line traditional Chinese culture. In this social condition, the consciousness of fictionists of that time was shocked greatly; the expressional form and frame of their works was not an aptotic one because their creation was based on the self-questioning and the desire of exhibition. The understanding to the complexity of life especially the complexity of self-consciousness decides that the modern novel can not express things with only one fixed form. During the period of the May 4th Movement of 1919, fictionists incorporated things of diverse nature, by this way, they enriched the expressive force of their works. This study deals with the originality of the works of Lu Xun, Yu Dafu and Bing Xin. Lu Xun and Yu Dafu was the most creative writer there and then whose thoughts in the aspect of literary style were very similar. Bing Xin drew a beautiful picture in the reform of literary style with her unique understanding and practice.
