Story (what to say) is the common factor of three different literary forms-novels, films and plays while narrative (how to say) is the difference among three styles. This makes a "good" story described time and again via several kinds of media carriers as well as provides conditions to conduct research on a story’s different narrations."Li Shuangshuang" is the typical text of seventeen-year literature. First of all. it carries factors of a "good" story, including a readable content with full structure and twist plots, a myth fable full of magic, a way of time-proven and popular storytelling and glorious idealized characters that could resonate with audience, all of which are the intrinsic determinant of literary quality. Secondly, with various rhetoric and multi-dimension presentation via novel, film and drama media, these elements form a strong impression of memory and become a representative example of literature and art which is the extrinsic advantage to strengthen literature cognition. Therefore, even if "Li Shuangshuang" series is a text with seemingly simple plot and lack of technical contents, it appears with worth value because of two typical conditions mentioned as above or conformation to the law of "fame". Furthermore, its own condition, the meaning of speech, is not so prominent that the way of exploring values is more desirable. This paper starts from "story", centers on story forms of three different styles-novel, film and play and studies integrally under the identical framework of story morphology. Also, with text perusal and historical analysis, this paper goes through the internal and external forms of storytelling by three different literary formations-word, image and stage, namely, demonstrates what "Li Shuangshuang" series are saying (story) and how it narrates (narration). Divided into four chapters, the paper is presented from the perspectives of methods, characters, plot and rhetorical skills respectively. The first chapter is to generally illuminate the reason and method of research on story forms of "Li Shuangshuang" series. It explains the source and analysis value of story forms research objects; an overall introduction of research tool in this paper-Propp’s Morphological theory as well as its applicability; the applicability of story forms theory and "Li Shuangshuang" series analysis in three aspects of research conditions, genre and methods. In Chapter two, it analyzes the image of characters and its typed setting in the aspect of role type in story forms theory. The author chooses Li Shuangshuang and Sun Xiwang, souls of this artistic style, to make detailed analysis, refers to research methods such as women’s discourse, revolutionary discourse, humanity’s discourse to discuss the artistic skills and causes in shaping these two brilliant characters. In terms of the initial situation and feature of story morphology theory, Chapter Three discusses specific presentations of different artistic performance-"Li Shuangshuang" novel, film and play with an identical story line as well as the strategy analysis behind it. Under the feature of story morphology theory, it analyzes the essence of an identical story presented by word, image and stage respectively as well as its significance. From the point of rhetoric, Chapter Four summarizes modification methods of "Li Shuangshuang" series’ different performance ways under the same story, discusses arguments in four aspects of literary forms, politics, civil society and love respectively and concludes that an external packaging of literature is also important for "Li Shuangshuang" series other than the intrinsic quality of a "good" story.Under the seventeen-year literary stature, what to say and how to say become so cautious for the multiple restricted resources that it is considered as a beloved and popular literature flower that grows in this poor soil. Therefore, the research on its artistic values of both internal story and external narration should not be neglected.
