On The Research Of Vico And New Science

Giambartista Vico is a great thinker who holds a special status in the western thought history. His representative work is New Science with rich thoughts, unique opinions. But, in many people's eyes, The content of New Science is excessively numerous and disorderly, obscure and difficult to understand. Therefore, his contemporary thinkers who had been pay more attention to as Rene Descartes, Francis Bacon, Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz, Thomas Hobbs, John locke and etc. However, if we take a general view of history of the western modern thought and culture, it can be find Vico and New Science not only have laid the foundation for many afterward thinker who have different viewpoints and theories, but also originated many new theories On 19—20 century. It is important that to probe and sort out the thoughts and influences, specially aesthetic and anthropological thoughts and influences both of Vico and New Sciences, because it should develop the construction of aesthetics , the literature and art theory as well as on the research of Vico in china.The dissertation tries to analysis and sort out the thoughts as well as the influences of Vico and New Science , also discuss its status in the western aesthetics and cultural history. Section 2 points out the connection with comparison research between Vico and other thinkers like Plato, Shaftesbury, Descarts, Bacon, Grotius.
