Research About The Mother Prototype

This paper mainly discusses a prototype theory—mother prototype and it'svariants. It bases on the prototype theory and feminist perspective, which is in cultural studies and literary studies .In this paper, I analysis the mother prototype from multi-angles: both ancient and modern legends, dramas, novels, films, poems, songs and advertising materials from china and foreign countries; mother prototype's "good" and "evil"; the mother prototype from different perspectives of men and women; images of mothers in subversion, re-interpretations and reconstruction. By these analysis, I want toexplore people all kinds of woman's roles—daughter, wife and mother—in themother river of human history. I also want to explore the human universal desire , betrayal and attachment to the right "mother". And I try to search the proper character and status for the "mother".The full text of the main part is divided into four chapters:The first chapter focuses on the Oedipus complex in Cultural Studies through the vision of universal human history, and then focuses on the various inclusive and dedicated great mothers in literary studies. All of these are to witness what is the mankind's "good" mother.Chapter II focuses on the mother's "good" and "evil" in Cultural Studies of all human history, and focuses on the various irresponsible ,crazy mothers in literary studies to witness what is the human's "evil" mother.Chapter III firstly focuses on written male awareness of the "natural mother crime" ,and on the feminists'effort against the male authority ,then followed by multipleforms of analysis—images of mothers in subversion , re-interpretations andreconstruction. These analysis tell us mother" itself reveals the contradictions and complexities, as well as the rewriting facing a great number of puzzle and predicament.Chapter IV Briefly Introduces all kinds of prototype variants which reveal common symbolic meaning.
