Study On Modernity Of The May 4 Enlightenment Literature

The May-fourth enlightenment literature has often been regarded as starting point of modern Chinese literature. It is far-reaching significance to understand, grasp and reappearance modern expansion, when passing May-fourth" enlightenment" spirit in review. The modernity of May-fourth enlightenment literature is researched in this essay as follows.Firstly, the origin of May-fourth enlightenment literature is studied. May-fourth movement, no matter what, is branded to a great extent by western culture. Referring to the modern western literature, Chinese culture broke traditional model and became the multiplicity models with the property of the fusion of western and eastern culture. Because of the differences between western and eastern in traditional culture, May-fourth enlightenment is not equal to the western modern enlightenment. But, it is real that the culture and thought of the May-fourth enlightenment literature is referring to the western, and the May-fourth enlightenment literature is caused by May-fourth enlightenment movement.Secondly, the modernity meaning of the May-fourth enlightenment literature is discussed. Through the retrospection of May-fourth, modernity of the Chinese literature is mined in the process of history, such as ancient prose becoming to modern prose, the naissance of thought of "people" and the renewal of the conception of literature. May-fourth literature revolution is the original of the Conception of value, conception of subsistence and belief of modern Chinese people.Thirdly, May-fourth literature revolution is re-thought. Because of the urgent demand of politics movement for literature and the conflict of literature itself in that period, May-fourth enlightenment movement did not realize the conception of pure literature with modern taste meaning. The enlightenment movement was deviated the original orbit, and the contradiction was caused between the ideality and reality. However, the May-fourth enlightenment literature, which is a milestone of Chinese literature and always topics, bring important influence in the evolution of Chinese literature.
