It is known that Huo Jianqi is a film director of the Post-Fifth Generation, yet until now there hasn't been any complete study of his movies and the movies' style; so it is urgent to discover and present the director's aesthetic taste and spiritual essence from his individual gift, and the embodiment of which in the movies. Basing on systematizing all his life experience and movies of Huo Jianqi, the article expounds and analyses some typical poetic movies of the director's late productions which are in a uniform style, such as The Mountain, the Person, and the Dog, Life Show, Warm; it dissertates that the traditional Confucian culture makes a great impact on him, and which is the key to form his artistic style; furthermore, it summarizes the whole artistic style of the film maker Huo Jianqi, in contrast with the contemporary directors who make artistic movies and the directors who had the similar style in the film history.Chapter One Developing a Style of His Own in the Contemporary Movies--Huo Jianqi's PoeticMovies The chapter focuses on expounding all his works so as to probe into his persistent artistic style which belongs to poetic movies, and highlights the speciality of his movies' style in the splendor of the contemporary commercial movies, artistic movies and thematic movies.Chapter Two The Spiritual Essence of Huo Jianqi--Warmth of the Poetic life The chapteremphasizes Huo Jianqi's life experience and educational background, the great influence which the whole Fifth Generation makes on him, his succeeding to Confucian culture' s positive connotation, and makes a description, a summary and an evaluation of Huo Jianqi' s creative ideas, theoretical opinions and aesthetic modality, so as to conclude Huo Jianqi's spiritual essence is to publicize the warmth of poetic life, which is full of nostalgia, and it deserves artistic sympathy and empathy.Chapter Three Style's Literary Adaptation and Movies 'poetry Transplantation The chapter analyses and aesthetically expounds some specific cases of Huo Jianqi's movies, the characters in the original works and the movie's adaptation of Life Show, the traditional Chinese culture' s archetype and mode of Warm, the subject matter' s archetype of "affection between father and son" of The Mountain, the Person, and the Dog. From the contrast and coherence of the three movies and their original works, it apperceives Huo Jianqi' s aesthetic choices and theoretical opinions, and comments on the cultural and aesthetic value.Chapter Four Succeeding to the Poetic Tradition of Chinese Movies--the Historical Scan of Movies'Style of Huo Jianqi From the angle of the film history, the chapter analyses and expounds the similar movies' style of such directors as Wu Yonggang, Fei Mu, Wu Yigong in the last century, and also it analyses and concludes aesthetically the poetic movies' passing on and developing; with the correlative study of the relative political, cultural and artistic phenomena, it clarifies the artistic style' s experience in the current globalized atmosphere and its developing tendency in the future.Epilogue: Pursue the soul' s native land. From the angle of criticism accepted, this part expounds again the poetic movies' experience in the film market and the author' s reflection on it, and restates the special charm of this kind of movies in the globalized atmosphere, the impact that the study makes on the author and the consideration that the study brings to him.
