Different psychologists had different opinions about the cognitive mechanism of insight problem resolving so that these ideas are divisive and tanglesome. There are mainly two theories explaining the cognitive mechanism of insight problem solving. One is the representational change theory, and the other is the progress monitoring theory. On the basis of past studies and views, a hypothesis about the activation of prototypal matters and the quality of heuristic information was put forward. The prototypal matters were the cognitive events that could facilitate the insight problem solving. The prototypal matters were noticed by the solver or appears in the mental scope of the solver was named activation. The activation of prototypal matters couldn't predicate the happen of insight, only the special information embodied in the prototypal matters was noticed by the solver, the insight was happening. The special informationwas the key heuristic information. This study tried to establish a new material--alogogriph store and investigated the theory of the activation of prototypal matters in insight problem solving through the learning and testing experimental paradigm. This research consisted of two experiments. Experiment 1 tested the facilitating effect of the activation of prototypal matters through "1 vs. 1 "the learning and testing experimental paradigm. Experiment 2 explored whether activation of prototypal matters was effected by the different learning styles through "7 vs. 7" experimental paradigm. The results were as follows:1. Learning prototypal logogriph could facilitate participants to resolve the logogriph problem solving.2. It established a new material--a logogriph store which included sortableindexes to every base logogriph, such as difficulty.3. The activation of prototypal matters was effected by the different learning styles, and the effect was complex.4. This new experimental paradigm simulated the process of insight. The "difficulty" and "elicitation" were effective indexes.
