The Cultural Policy Barometer Of KMT In Wartime

Literary Pioneer is the only large-scale official literary publication operated by Kuomintang(KMT) in the 40's Sino-Japanese War later period and the liberation war.It is a window to look into the literary policy of Kuomintang every period. Thus, under the different backgrounds, the appearance this publication presented also changed. At the same time, it was not merely Kuomintang's propagandize instrument ,it also had its own independence after establishment, being an unique literature landscape with literary works and the complex debates by each school of writers. Through the research to the "Literary Pioneer", we can not only retrieve certain important details which were forgotten in the present history of literature, but can also initiate some ponders to the new method of research to the history of literature.This article is divided to six parts: The introduction has partially cleaned up the clue of the Kuomintang's literary policy and the literature movement,as well the neglection and sophistication to this by partial history of literature,brought forward to taking the "Literary Pioneer" as a foundation stone to study, in order to clear off the the venation of literature development and return the liberature to original state historically and concretely .The first part mainly elaborated the social background, the edition and publication condition and basic appearance of the "Literary Pioneer" at the time of its beginning.The second part has analysised and demonstrated the relationship between the Kuomintang literature policy and appearance of the "Literary Pioneer", from the aspects of the editor change, the column establishment, the discussion on the publication and the interaction between readers and publication and so on. The third part mainly took the creation on the "Literary Pioneer" as a solly port, has discussed the reasons of the brevity prosperity in some specific time, and also analysis some characteristic column tractates and poetry creation. The fourth part began from the analysis on the core members of Chankuots'e literature school articles which was published on the "Literary Pioneer" ,then took a farther discussion on the coincident between the argument of Chankuots'e literature school and the Kuomintang literary policy. The conclusion part has sum up the entire article, affirmed the great significance to study the "Literary Pioneer" regarding to research the Kuomintang wartime literary policy and also the history of literature research.
