Su Shi said that there were pictures in Wang Wei's poems. It means Wang Wei's poems down to the poems of Tang dynasty and down to ancient Chinese poems had one kind of beautiful characteristic; it's the picture beauty in the poems. However, another beautiful characteristic of ancient Chinese poems, especially in the Tang dynasty, had not been opened out well; it's the musical beauty of the poems of Tang dynasty. Like others' arts, the final start of the framer of music is sentiment and beauty. Besides, the common characteristic of music and poem is appealing this sentiment and beauty to people's heart at first hand. Compared to the picture's reappearance, this expressing form of music was much deeper. Whereas, the viewpoint of "there is music in the poems" hasn't been brought forward as yet. The ancient musical aesthetic literatures mostly started from the social function of music, neglected researching music itself. The modern scholars have noticed the consanguineous relation of music and poems. But the research of musical poems settles at the surface. And there was little special research regarding it as a systemic field.This paper starts from calculating and concluding the musical poems, and picks out Tang dynasty——the flourishing era of poems. According to the timbre, the suitable performing scene of different musical instruments, starting from sentiment and beauty, it analyses the pieces in the poems of Tang dynasty, in order to lie the foiling effect of different musical instruments that takes part in the artistic conception. In the same time, according to the different musical imagoes and artistic conception, this paper compares the genres that appear in the early, middle and end of Tang dynasty and concludes each genre's style. And it lays out the frame of mind of literati in different eras according to the musical imagoes they preferred and grasps the pulse of different genres.
