| After World War Two, developed capitalist countries found that, it was a short-term effect to carry out their purpose by force, but it would be a long tact to use culture policy to control other countries. Government in power of America has realized from the beginning that culture plays an important role in its global strategy , cultural industry is not only a ready commercial source of money but also the political microphone. At present international society, multi-culture has been out of the ideology limitation, and become important element of world community. But, is cultural diversity consistent to American interest? Not at all! America thinks that, only western idea of value and principle checkless in the world can enhance American"soft power", and safeguard the country. But the actual problem is, the stronger the America force the other nations and areas to accept their cultural value, the more repulsion and rejection it would receive.On the production of past research, this paper takes culture expansion of America after world war two as study object, from the perspective of cultural imperialism and culture expansion, analyzing the historical origin, realistic conditions, means and its essence of cultural expansion of America and concluding that, though America pushes its cultural hegemony with every means, the world culture is not going to be"homogeneity". Finally, the paper analyzes the reasons and essence of America diffusing"Chinese culture threat", and the attitude and measures China should adopt.This paper discusses from five parts: Firstly, briefly elucidates cultural imperialism and related concepts, history of culture expansion of capitalism; Secondly, analyzes realistic condition of American cultural hegemony and historical origin; Thirdly, concretely reveals the essence of American culture policy; Fourthly, specifies the expansion of American popular culture from the aspects of film, music, internet, etc. Finally, posts the essence of"Chinese culture threat".
