A Study Of TaiGu Yangge

TaiGu yangge, which derives from countryside drama in TaiGu county ofShanXi province, is a synthetically art of ditty, zarzuela, drama, song and dance. It iscalled Qitai yangge and Jinzhong yangge because it was widely spread in Qi county, Pingyao, Jiexiu, Wenshui, Yuci, Shouyang and Taiyuan.Most former studies on Taigu yangge emphasized simple record of rhythm andanalysis of play text.
