Franklin Roosevelt is an outstanding American bourgeois politician. This thesis strongly emphasizes and analyzes Roosevelt's diplomatic thinking and practice, so as to commemorate the victory of World War II and also commemorate the anti-fascist fighter.Good education of family and school led to the formation of the Roosevelt's world idea and the interest in politics. In1930, the world situation inspired Roosevelt to change the world and overcome evil. These experiences became the basis of his ideological and diplomatic sources. The outbreak of World War II offered Roosevelt a vast arena to achieve his political aspirations. With his main diplomatic ideas such as good-neighbor diplomatic ideology, anti-fascist ideology, decolonization thinking and international cooperation thinking, he has created many unprecedented myths in American history,There are many genres to study Roosevelt's diplomatic thinking in western academic field now. On the basic viewpoints, they can be divided into the principal and the orthodox school. The former believes that Roosevelt's diplomatic thinking and practice is the real reason the United States lost the peace. But the latter thinks that just because these diplomatic thinking and practice, they can maintain the security and national interests of the United States, and the United States entered World War II is a historical necessity.Based on the dialectical materialism, I believe that on the one hand, Roosevelt's diplomatic thinking and practice has certain historical progress. It is shown in: (1)Good-neighbor policy and ideology help establishing the American anti-fascist alliance and recovering economic of Latin American countries; (2)Anti-Fascist ideology and policy promote the anti-fascist alliance's unity and help to bring the ultimate defeat of the fascist axis allies;(3) Decolonization thought promotes the eventual independence of the colonized people, and accelerates the collapse of the European colonial system. To some extent, it is also to promote the integration process in the post-war world; (4) Anti-isolationist thinking and policy lay an important foundation for cooperation of America with other anti-fascist state; (5) The thinking and policy of international cooperation is conducive to safeguarding world peace and promoting democratization in the post-war world. On the other hand, Roosevelt's diplomatic ideas are also with distinct historical limitations : (1) Good-neighbor policy and ideology is to relieve the contradictions between the United States and Latin American countries, and to ease the crisis facing the United States;(2)The most important purpose of anti-colonialism is to lay the foundation for establishing the status in the world of United States after the war; (3) The fundamental purpose of anti- isolationist′s thinking and policy is to protect the security of the United States and the big bourgeoisie and oligarchic interests of the ruling group; (4) The ideas of the international disarmament and the establishment of a new world order both have imperialism and hegemony power politics color.Ultimately, Roosevelt is not only an idealist, but also a realist. He firmly believed the global mission of the United States and determined to establish a just and caring world. But in a highly competitive world, all the sovereign countries formulate their foreign policies are always to their interests. When Roosevelt wanted to find out how to achieve his idealistic goal, he walked into a tight corner. The international economic and political environment made a huge fault between his idealism and realism. Therefore, despite strong ideological idealism, not far from the reality of its foreign policy doctrine doomed fate, for they are unified by the core of national interests. In 20th century, the United States has increasingly become the center of the global system. When national interests and the ideal beliefs conflicted, the United States often sacrificed the ideal beliefs.Overall, Roosevelt's diplomatic thinking has historical progress, and his foreign policy is a success too. (1)It unites the just strength of the world and achieves the victory of the anti-fascist war; (2) It leads the United States's great turn from isolationism to the world; (3) It enables the United States from a regional power into the world hegemony; (4) Roosevelt's diplomatic thinking has some practical significance and the value of the times. It could be said that it is Roosevelt's foreign policy and thinking that opened the door for the United States to the world, and laid the foundation for the rule of the United States after World War II. Roosevelt is a faithful defender of the fundamental interests of the bourgeoisie, an outstanding bourgeoisie leader and a centralized operation, courage and pragmatism excellent bourgeois politician.
