The Marshall Plan, namely the European Reconstruction Plan, was put forward against the background of the extremely worsen economic and political condition in Western Europe and the seriously difficult economy situation in America. The aided countries were forced to undertake some terms beneficial to the US, so America gained much benefit from the plan .In recent years, the Marshall Plan has drawn much attention of Chinese scholars, as a result, many articles have been published. As to the influences of the plan, the scholars mainly focus their attention on its important role in the reconstruction of European economy and the incorpration of west European economy. Generally speaking, according to these ideas, the Marshall Plan reconstructed and developed the European economy and stabilized the social order in Europe. But according to some other ideas, the plan quickened the division of Europe. However ,the influences of the Marshall Plan on the US have been neglected by scholars in our country and there isn't a systematic description on them although they are mentioned here and there by some scholars.Based on the theories and ideas of historical and dialectical materialism, the article aims to have an analysis and induction of the influences of the Marshall Plan on the US, and to have an objective and just comment on these results and influences. The article points out that the plan stimulated the American economy in the earlier period following World Warâ…¡and it helped to establish America's leading position in the world of capitalist economy. But it also led to the economic conflict between America and Europe. In politics, the Marshall Plan sped up the Cold War between America and the Soviet Union, making America at a favorable position. Besides, the Marshall Plan promoted the combination between America and Europe and helped to establish strategic bunds and established America's hegemon status. The article, from another perspective, tries to have a cognition of the Marshall Plan and America's diplomatic policies through providing aids for other countries in the hope of giving references to the study of America's diplomatic policies.
