Mainly in the view of Britain, the article touches on Anglo-American economic relations in the early days after the World War II. Through a series of economic events such as Anglo-American Financial Agreement and the Marshall Plan, the thesis shows Britain' s economy some dependence on and its adherence to the U. S. This results from Termination of Lend-lease, and is consolidated by the difficulty in Britain economy. The thesis includes three parts:The first part introduces that because Lend-lease makes Britain' s economic some dependence on the U. S., the unilateral declaration of terminating Lend-lease by the U. S. and the bad economy, Britain asks for more financial help from America. At the end of 1945, Anglo-American Financial Agreement is signed. However, earring it makes the Britain econony more badly. The second part is about the release of the Marshall Plan and the initial reaction of Britain. To dissolve the economic difficulty, on the one hand, Britain draws its military overseas,on the other hand, it asks America for more financial help. In view of the economic and political situation, the U. S. decides to implement on "Assistance Plan" to revive the Europe, so Marshall Plan is put up. This decision gets the hail from Britain first. The third part presents the Foreign Assistances is.passed and put into effect. On April 2 1948, the U. S. Congress passes the Foreign Assistances and on April 3, the Marshall Plan is put into effect. Britain-U. S. Bilateral Agreement signed on July 6 1948 paves the way. That the Marshall Plan is put into effect makes Britain better, but also consolidates its adherence to the U. S.From the termination of the Lend-lease to the implementation of the Marshall Plan, the economic relations between Britain and the U. S. is displayed as Britain' s adherence to the U. S. .This dependent relationship has stimulated revival of Britain' s economy and shakenBritain' s position as a great power, but also consolidated the Western Union led by the U. S. during the Cold War. In this course, Britain is still able to play her role and exert certain influence. But, this influence is limited and can not change the Britain' s dependence on the U. S.
