The Research Of Nixon Administration's Foreign Economic Aid

The Nixon Doctrine was the US diplomacy strategy guiding principle of Nixon period, it was the adjustment strategy which was made by American Government that based on domestic and foreign situations. The foreign aid is one of the important parts of the whole country foreign policies, it includes the politics, the economy, the military, the culture and so on , its scope is right widespread. This article only analyze the foreign economic aid which was guided by"the Nixon Doctrine"on that time.During Nixon period, because of the domestic economic recession and the Vietnam war, America faced grave situation in home and sea. in order to maintain American hegemonic position in the world, Nixon proposed"the Nixon Doctrine". Based on"the Nixon Doctrine", Nixon proposed two new slogans in the foreign aid field, one was the human rights aid, the other was the multilateral aid. In fact, the human rights aid was the economic aid, which should pay more attention to humanity's economic life improvement and society's lasting development, and this kind of economic aid must carry on through the multilateral channels. The Nixon foreign economic aid policies were vital significance in the American foreign aid history, and provided the model to later American Government; It also had the indelible contribution in the American foreign relations history. It increased the developing countries to American favorable impression, improved American and the entire world foreign relations.Researching the Nixon administration's the foreign economic aid, is helpful to further learn the Nixon administration's the foreign strategy, international situation during the cold war time as well as the north and south economy relations; It is also useful for China to aid the African countries in new centuries.
