The collections of dramas"To Decorate White Furcoat",extended byQian Decang, recorded the lyrics of"Western Chamber"without referring to the melody. The earliest publication referring to the melody of"Jasmine"was"Xiao Hui Ji"(new melody for 12 minor key ), edited by Chu Xiang host in the seventeenth year of Dao Guang ( 1837 ) ."Fresh Flower's Melody"had been widely spread in Ming and Qing dynasties and had over 200 year's history since it had its own melody.Our country is a country with vast territory and dense population, thus the geographical environment, lifestyle, custom, history, cultural trandition, and language various from one place to another. These cause the changes of"Fresh Flower's Melody"during over 200 years, and the different editions of"Jasmine"with various melody and style. It had spread to every area of the whole country.Folk music can be divided into 15 style regions because of the influences of geographical environment, the most importance of which is based on geography and langform. However, the divisions of folk music and geography, Language and custom are overlapped. The formation of one culture has close relation with the factors such as geography, language and culture.Historically speaking, there are, in effect, some cultural regions whose symbol is the name: the culture of Qi, Yan Zhao, San Jin, Qin, Bashu, Chu, WuYue,BaiYue and the area south of Yellow River ( zhong yuan ), As time goes by, their geographical features haven't faded but become brighter and richer. Up to now, we can still feel the differences between them inheriting 1000 years ago, especially some culture passed on by oral trandition such as folk songs, minor keys and tranditional music. Each culture has its own distincted characteristics and style.Different language features bring about different musical style, that is, language is the key point in forming certain singing style. This is very important especially in the singing of folk songs. Flok songs are oral created with the characteristics of freedom and unrestriction, and different region has different language style in singing. Dialects play a prominent role in the singing style of folk songs. For instance,"Jasmine"is spreading in Jiangsu, Hebei, the northeast area, Shandong, Hubei, Sichuan, Shanxi, Henan and HeiLongjiang provinces with various musical style.This paper makes a clear analyze and discussion on the style of"Jasmine"of different regions from its structures of tune, melody and rhythm, language, lining word and lining cavity, the characteristics of sound and the lyrics. As the non—material cultural heritage,"Jasmine"should be well protected and inherited.
