From the perspective of childhood motif, the thesis explores the uniqueness Chi Zijian's represents in her literary creation in terms of the following three aspects: the origins, the external expressiveness and the aesthetic connotation of the childhood motif.Firstly, by analyzing the origins of the childhood motif in Chi Zijian's works, we can see that the author casts doubt on modern civilization because the free state of existence has been restricted and stifled with the development of modern society. Therefore, the author tries to find out the ideal world through constant thought and finally returns to the spiritual homestead of human beings, which shows that she has finished the reshaping of her literary self.Secondly, the external expressiveness of the childhood motif is embodied in the following two ways: the childhood perspective, and the interactions between child and nature. The creation technique shows that the author has a child's heart and she is a true devotee of nature. Therefore, Chi Zijian's works represent the vital force in contemporary literary arena.Lastly, the aesthetic connotation of the childhood motif of Chi Zijian's works is highly dependent on the humanity of the traditional Chinese ethic and moral ideals. Chi Zijian's works express the unique aesthetic comprehension and aspire after aestheticism by tapping the humanity of people, scanning the humanity that has already been ignored and employing techniques that strengthen the goodness and weaken the evil.
