A Research On Fromm's Modernity Criticism Of Human's Living Plight

Erich Fromm is a famous psychologist, and sociologist and philosopher in the20th century, the founder of the depth psychology. In the domain of psychology , heis an representative figure of the depth psychology school?In philosophy ,he is animportant representative figure of Frankfurt School and the "Mark West". The size ofhis writings, academic activities involving philosophy, ethics, psychology, sociologyand religious studies and other fields. Fromm is the core of the modern theory of thesurvival problems and solutions. His lifelong work is unalloyed cencering on thesituation of existence and mental problem in modern industrialization society ofcommodity economy. He is not concerned with a small number of persons withmental illness or selfrealization,but most people survive difficulties and answerquestions.This thesis is mainly composed of three parts as following:The aim of first part is mainly to introduce the contemporary comprehension ofFromm about human's survival plight.Fromm analsized the contemporary livingsituation in an overall way by result "escapes from freedom" "Man for himself" and"sane society",escape from freedom and alienation are especial dichotomyof contemporary people. Human' s existence dilemma. Fromm thinks that the birth ofhuman being is neglectfully qualitative event. The living is always in the dilemma oflifeanddeath,of emphasis of potentialities and shortlivedlife, and ofindividualization and loneliness.To resolve the existence contradiction,human emergeall sorts requires. In some sense ,social character and social unconsciousness aremethods to satisfy these requires."Individual and loneliness" the survival of the peopleshould decide contradictions tireless pursuit of freedom, using all sorts of means toescape a "negative freedom." This "negative freedom" in the contemporary Westernsociety shows man's alienation.Second part aims to make a carding and an exploration on Fromm's criticalthinking of human's survival plight.
