Minimalism Style And Modern Environmental Art

At the end of 20th century, Minimalism Style has appeared, dazzling the world of design with its simple structure, pure space, and elaborate design. As it relates to our daily most closely, modern environmental art has long been affecting people's way of living and ideology. At the same time, people's view of function and aesthetics directly decides the form of environmental art. This thesis begins tracing back the origin of Minimalism, then discusses the fade of decoration–centered traditional design methods, and explained the motives in various aspects. While illustrating the characteristics of Minimalism in modern environmental art, it reveals the true nature of modern design and its principles. The thesis reasoned the important internal link between Minimalism and Modern environmental art by appealing to examples from various aspects. The research of Minimalism is the most direct and intuitive way to comprehend modern environmental art. It propels the research of modern design, and provides ideology and methodology. China is now in a phase of rapid economic growth, and urbanization is going on in a grand scale. After China's opening to the world, the environment appeared more important on gaining international status. The research and study of modernism art and design embrace the principles of environmental protection and building the economical society. Minimalism opens to us an area for the development of design art in our country, and provides strong support of principles and prospects under the background of modernization.
