The Strategy of-England Maritime Hegemony in Elizabethâ… is animportant milestone in the history of Britain diplomacy. Before that,England threw her eyes on the Continent to be the overload. In Maryâ… ,England lost Calais, the only territory on the Continent. It was almostunpractical for her to get the overload position on the Continent at thattime since on the one hand Spain and France were powerful, and on theother hand, in the early years of Elizabethâ… the finance of the countrywas difficult; the religious conflicts were obvious; the diplomaticrelationships were in trouble. So these prompted her to shift frombecoming the overload on the Continent to Maritime Hegemony and thisadapted to the need of current development. It is always disputable on the intention and nature of the MaritimeHegemony in Elizabethâ… . Some people tended to equate conflict, warwith the Maritime Hegemony. The fact is not so simple. The author in thispaper believes it involves five main aspects, including developingeconomy and expanding overseas, reforming and constructing themilitary system, supporting Netherland and constraining Spain, beatingthe Spanish Armada, and four expeditions after war.It roused argument on the great impact on Britain, Europe and thewhole world by the consequence of Britain Maritime Hegemony inElizabethâ… .Based on the previous research results, this dissertation is finishedafter hard working and carefully thinking. It involves with the knowledgein many aspects, such as history, politics, economics, religion andinternational relations.
