Accompanying Industrial Civilization, spiritual crisis facilitated the reflection of Binary-opposition in western academic circle, so modern art that had originated from Industrial Civilization appeared a declining trend while postmodern art sprung up with each passing day. Postmodern art advocates the merge of subject and object, namely subject replacing object further, which verified an art philosophical predication from Hegel, "The stage where spirit goes beyond substance". At this stage, the indication of contemporary art's death emerged which contrasted with traditional art. This paper is about to research and demonstrate the issue of "The Death of Art" in contemporary art and philosophical Circles within the horizon of the Ethics of Psychoanalysis of Lacan in view of the history of art. Therefore the paper will focus on the compared relation of two basic elements "spirit" and "substance" which are from Hegel's theory of "The Death of Art", and compare this idea to the contradictions which are "subject" and "object", "death" and "immortality", "restraint of rule" and "breakthrough in rule" with a simultaneously existence which is "newness" and "oldness", they are all extracted from the theory of the Ethics of Psychoanalysis of Lacan, to demonstrate that art will be immortal in spite of "spirit surpassing substance" and "subject invading object or subject eventually replacing object" phenomenally just by forms' pioneering thoroughly, namely having a breakthrough in traditional art rule, which will generally enrich the categories of art, and lead contemporary art to a diversified trend and situation of art development.
