In the Discussion of eliminating perplexity(《灭惑论》), Buddhism was used to dominate Confucianism by LiuXie, which reflects his maximum inclination to the grasping and perceiving of buddhist mind and nature。At the same time Liu tried his best to prove the utmost coincidence between Buddhism and the teachings of Confucianism, which showed both his insistence on those teachings and his affirmation of the institutional world. Liu's Wenxing diaolong(《文心雕龙》) outspreaded its description with two backbones. On the one hand he expressed his arrangement for the institutional world by the validity of talented literary; on the other hand, he united the mind with both humanity and Tao in order to transform the humanity into a spiritual product of superrealism via both tasting consciousness and the originality of the mind, keeping tension in some ways with the scripture. The proposition of six-meaning not only counterpoises the two backbones, but also incorporates the idea of occult and Tao with an open mind. Though the two works differs on the way of fusing both Buddhism and Confucianism for the reason of distinct historical mission, in general, there are affirmation of the Confucianism, the purport of fusion of both Confucianism and Buddhism, and the spirit of pursue his studies with an open-minded general transformation existing in Liu's idea all along. Furthermore, through the six-meaning, we glimpse at the phenomenon of the retrogressing of the Six-Classics as the central role in Confucianism's annotation system, and we can also taste the author's wish of both returning to the traditional Confucianism's character of mean and harmony and expanding the classic Confucianism annotation space.
