Further Studies About Changes Of Contemporary Suzhou Dialect

Influenced by the dialect around and mandarin,Suzhou dialect has changed a lot,such as phonetic changes,lexical changes and so on.Many predecessors have made researches on it.On the basis of those researches,this paper is to investigate the changes of Suzhou dialect as well as reasons.With the help of many native of Suzhou,we got a lot of reliable lingual material.After statistics and analysis,some new changes on initial,vowel,tone, and vocabulary have found. Furthermore, the reasons that led to those new changes have discussed.Then,through the comparison of new and old varieties in Suzhou dialect,the hypothesis of lexical diffusion has been proved feasible.At the same time,some theoretic problems have discussed,including few changes are also a kind of change,frequency has dual effect on the change of language.
