Realism of painting can be said one of the most obscure terms in the current artistic expressions. We usually distinguish a realistic painting by the meaning of Realism for the first level, that is to say, in the ways and means of painting, from the observation, the design, the operation, to the result performed in the picture, it presents its appearance by the aspect of impersonal object recognizably (different from the Abstract). At the same time, because of our study of western painting history, we highly admire the painting master's excellent works from the Revival of Learning to the western modernistic painting in the 19th century. During the university time, we learn and enjoy western master's painting skills and expressive methods, as well as numerous great works of modernistic paintings after the 20th century. No matter the Fauvism, the Cubism, the Surrealism, or the after- modernism, they all widened our sight and made us know more about painting methods and expressive techniques. Namely, another meaning of the Realism is that the internal substance of painting emphasizes the base of natural and social authenticity, as well as the realistic spirit of connotation representation. The significance of this aspect is more comprehensive and in-depth than the former one, and it is commonly regarded as a creative measure. The meaning for my choice of this topic is to try to discuss that in today's rapid development of popular pictures and computer paintings, whether those artists who accepted traditional realistic painting trainings can represent more styles and modes in the expressive method of realistic paintings, and whether the ways and means of realistic paintings can have a new appearance in front of us.
