Many scholars have achieved remarkable results about comparing"YOODA"with"RASHII"in the research of current Japanese auxiliary, especially about the similarities and differences between"YOODA"and"RASHII". However, the different usages of"YOODA"and"RASHII"are very complex, which not only embody their ambiguity, the commonness of their expressions, but also embody their close relationship with other hypothetic expressions. Therefore, the author believes that one of subjects faced by Japanese researchers and Japanese educators is how to distinguish and apply them properly, whether from the perspective of research or of Japanese education. The object of this paper is"YOODA"and"RASHII". This thesis mainly discusses the characteristics of"YOODA"and"RASHII"from aspects of their ambiguity, differences, synonymy and the relationship between sense and feeling, intending to understand"YOODA"and"RASHII"further and use them correctly.Through the researches of their ambiguity, it has been learnt that each usage has its characteristics,"YOODA"has figurative effects, local features of mode, subjectivity and objectivity of supposition, euphemistic intention and hearsay supposition, while"RASHII"'s features mainly lie in the indirect certainty, objectivity of evidences, euphemistic intention and two-sides of hearsay.Through reviewing the similarities and differences of"YOODA"and"RASHII", we can learn that, though both of them have usages of supposition, circumbendibus and hearsay, they can't be exchanged unconditionally. Besides their respective usages,"YOODA"and"RASHII"have subtle differences in language sense even on the occasion of exchangeable. As for the synonymy of"YOODA"and"RASHII", the paper mainly analyzes from the subjective expression of demonstration judgement and true/false judgement. As we learn, both of them are demonstration judgement in affirmance auxiliary, and probabilistic judgement in subjective expression of true/false judgement. In addition, the different usages of"YOODA"and"RASHII"have close relationship with disparate sensation of ears, noses and mouths. The supposition produced by disparate sensation need different expressions when speakers make judgements according to some situations in the head.Through comparing"YOODA"and"RASHII", we can see that both of them have their own features in usage, and also have many similarities. The difficulty lies in their subtle differences of usage.
