Reading Contemporary Aesthetics, And Pondering Over The Application Of "Artistic Conception"

"Artistic conception"is a category of Chinese classic aesthetics which means unification of scenery and emotion, as well as mergence of image and mind .The form, which is limited ,vivid and external, contains infinite, plentiful and profound artistic connotation. In the past 20 years, the theories of modernism and post modernism intervene in Chinese Aesthetics all-sidedly. On this condition, how to deal with the relations between the past with the present, tradition with modern, China with the West become the matter of common concern both in Chinese Aesthetics and in artistic practice. I write this thesis and attempt to survey the special"meaning"through analyzing the certain backgrounds of the"artistic conception", such as political background, economic background and cultural background, which are namely"state of being". And consider if there is ample scope for the theories about"artistic conception"to develop during the neo-historical period.
