Social perspective taking is a cognitive skill, which plays an important role on children's socialization. Conflict resolution strategy is an indication of the socialization and such of the autonomisation and social integration. Conflict resolution strategy reflects children's level of social competence. Theoretical value and practical significance were found. The purpose of the study was to examine the pupils' characteristics of social perspective taking and conflict resolution strategies, and the relationship between them. Some meaningful basis could be provided to develop pupils' effective conflict resolution strategies. The findings were:1. Cognitive perspective taking increased with age, the pupils of Grade 2 significantly scored lower than those of Grade 4 and Grade 6, and there was no difference between pupils of grade 4 and Grade 6. But age difference was not found in affective perspective taking. Sex differences were not demonstrated in social perspective taking. Cognitive perspective taking and affective taking developed differently.2.There was no significant difference between the social perspective taking of single children and that of non-single children. The small sample size of non-single children might influence the result.3.The most strategies pupils used were problem solving strategies, accommodating strategies and coercive strategies. Pupils used more problem solving strategies, accommodating strategies and avoiding strategies, but used less coercive strategies from the first person compared the third person.4. Grade and sex differences were demonstrated in conflict resolution strategy. Scenario and goal have effects in the use of conflict resolution strategies.5.Social perspective taking type difference was demonstrated in problem solving strategies and coercive strategies (from the third person). Affective perspective taking was significantly positively related to problem solving strategies. Affective perspective taking could positively predict problem solving strategies. The research not only enriched the study of social perspective taking and conflict resolution strategy, but also provided convictive basis for interference pupils' conflict resolution strategy.
