The individualism, which profoundly affected the western political practice and philosophy, is of great importance in western civilization. In modern research of individualism, Friedrich August von Hayek made a unique explanation and caused new attention on individualism in the academic circle.Friedrich August von Hayek differentiated two individualism thought traditions, analyzed the basic principle of"the false individualism"and its dangerous consequence. Then, he pointed out a real individualism knowledge tradition, elaborated the main principle of real individualism.Friedrich August von Hayek made a profound critique to"the false individualism", fundamentally shivered the foundation of rationalism, and provided a new proof way for the liberalism philosophy. It's also helpful for us to have a full view on individualism. At the same time, it also has several questions. First, his view has a dogmatism tendency. Second,"the spontaneous order"which is the core concept of"the real individualism"has many questions. Lastly, the ideological tendency and serviceability of Friedrich August von Hayek's theory also have some problem. Therefore we should analyze his theory dialectically.
