Rural literature is a important part in China modern literature of 20`s century. As rural literature itself, it has many embranchments. Luxun`s illuminative literature initiate China rural literature, it influences other rural authors and rural writings in the future. In this period, a original, pristine and beautiful world which is different with Luxun`s literature named'Xiangxi World'is appeared in Shen Congwen`s rural writings. Thereby Luxun and Shen Congwen are both the rural literature representative on Chinese modern rural literature.Luxun always take illuminative as his responsibility, he want to build a rational world in his rural literature, aimed to awake sick people and inspirit them to change current situation in the society. In this word, he prearranges the activity of dramatis personae in his fiction per his illuminative purposes. In Shen Congwen`s production, he want to retain Chinese tradition such as natural humanity and valiant power which all according to natural. By this topic, a quiet, beautiful and uninclusive modern civilization natural world was build by Shen Congwen. This world filled with author's romantic sentiment and artistic conception, the directly aim is to pursue beauty humanity. But not only in Luxun`s illuminative world but also in Shen Congwen`s pastoral sentiment, they are all full of conflictment and bafflement. Luxun discover the gulf between torchbearer who ignorant of the underlayer society and illuminative people who feel listless and suckles in top society changes. Due to the conflict between them, a generation of illuminative intellectual such as Luxun chose a road to escape from real society. In Shen Congwen`s'xiangxi world', he found that this world is different with real world even cannot compare. Modern culture intrude'xiangxi world', Shen even can not keep his romantic position and self-confidence on it, hereby say nothing of natural humanity. So we can see it is a primary reason why he stop his rural literature writing.This thesis would like to compare thought, sentiment and artistic between Luxun and Shen Congwen, also like to hold the whole modern rural literature of Chinese literature in 20`s century, try to realize the rural literature between Luxun and Shen Congwen.
