Self-perception is central to children's psychological well-being. However, self-perceptions of preschooler have received relatively little attention in the past. Through interviewing eighty-seven preschoolers of 4-6 years old, this paper grades the preschooler's self-perceptions in different domains. The children are divided into five different social status by peer nomination, then compare their self-perceptions in different domains. As the results show:a) Preschoolers took an optimistic attitude towards their cognitive competence, physical competence and peer acceptance compared with teacher's rating. This optimistic attitude is important to their development.b) There are significantly correlations between all domains for older preschoolers.But to younger preschoolers, physical domains is not significantly correlations with the other domains.c) In the cognitive and physical domains, main effects are significant for Grade.But there is no difference in the peer and maternal acceptance domains. The overall effect for sex is not significant in all domains.d) There is significantly correlation between peer acceptance domain and the cognitive domain to 4-6years old children. To younger preschoolers the overall main effect for social status is not significant in all domains. In the cognitive and peer acceptance domains, main effects are significant for social status by peer nomination for older preschoolers.e) As to teacher rating ,in the cognitive domains and peer acceptance domains, popular children is significantly higher than rejected, neglected and controversial children .there is no difference between popular and average children. Rejected children are significantly lower than average children.
