Maqixi's Religious Thoughts And Social Practice Of Xidaotang Reseach

The religions as social ideology constantly acclimatize to the society for development. The relation of the religions adapting to society put into practice through the social practice of humanity by harmonizing with the social existence . Chinese Islamic Xidaotang ,a newfashioned religious community was established by Maqixi in Gansu Lintan county in 1890. Xidaotang aims at promoting Islamism with local culture ,which can make believers understand Islam easily. Xidaotang established the religious household community and follower shared production and daily life .Xidaotang lay emphasis on developing economy ,attached importance to education Jay stress on social practice and produce a distinctive household organization and social cultrural phenomenon .After People's Republic of China was established, the household community of Xidaotang was disorganized .But Xidaotang still existed as a religion sect. Since the reformation and open policy has been practized, Xidaotang has promoted the traditions of developing economy and has education, maintained the union of the nation ,enthuse commonweal enterprise, which make Xidaotang correspond with the spirits of times and meanwhile possess its own conventional characteristics. The 100 years history of development of Xidaotang is the historical miniature of Islam adapting to Chinese society .The thesis analyzes the historical cultural backgrounds of the production of the religious thoughts of Maqixi, analyzes the formation of household organization and the social practice of Xidaotang ,and provides reference for the religions adapting to the Chinese society.
