Nostalgic Poems Of Taiwan Literature

Homesickness is one of the basic human emotions. Ever since ancient times, nostalgia has been an integral and important component of literature themes. There has been a lot of fine nostalgic poetry since New Poetry appeared in mainland China. After the foundation of New China, as a series of complex reasons, the nostalgic poems are almost indistinguishable in mainland China. However, Taiwan has a nostalgic poem with a special spiritual sustenance, and carrying this type of poetry. Because of Taiwan's unique geographical position, complicated historical background and the basis of this special group of poets formed the psychological experience, Taiwan's nostalgic poems are numerous and unique. They expressed unique feelings of homesickness with their particular experiences. These nostalgic poems including missing previous good days, missing relatives and friends, the desire to the reunification of the motherland and to return to the mother ,and so on. These moving poems will be recorded in the annals , filling and enriching China's contemporary poetry.This paper is divided into three parts to describe Taiwan's nostalgic poems. The first part analyzed the formation of Taiwan's nostalgic poems, focusing mainly on the background for Taiwan's nostalgic poems' formation, pointing that homesickness is a lonely mentality which is rooted in distant geography, history, culture and so on. From the political reality of Four immigrants, the impact of historical and cultural traditions, collective encounter and personal experience of those nostalgic poets, we can better understand why Taiwan poets have "hot" homesickness . The second part focuses on the nostalgic poems' cultural connotation and historical status. Taiwan's homesick poetry has its own rich literary forms, it can be divided into geographical homesickness, cultural homesickness and nature- village's homesickness . In addition, Taiwan's nostalgic poetry' literary history, we should not overlook it. In the literature as well as in history, Taiwan's nostalgic poems played a vital role, papers gave it to the exposition. Part III analyzed several representatives of Taiwan nostalgic poets. In Taiwan's poetry history, there were many nostalgic poets who expressed homesickness . Due to limited space, this paper only explained five poets and their works as representative. Among them there are Taiwanese, mainland-Taiwan poets, but also different era poets. Their works show such styles as sadness, melancholy, dignity, gentleness, and delicacy. But the center is the only one to express their indelible homesickness. Taiwan's nostalgic poems integrated Chinese classical poetry tradition and the spirit of Western arts. Numerous outstanding poems add rejuvenation for Chinese poetry, providing significant models for the writing of contemporary poetry with a special forming background, unique nostalgic content and expressing style. Maybe this is the meaning and value of this thesis topic.
