Irrational Factors And Scientific Discovery

Scientific discovery involves rational factors such as the logic, deduction, induction, reasoning as well as the irrational factors such as the emotion, intuition, inspiration, volition, religion, sub-consciousness and so on. This thesis puts forward that the rational factors have dominant function in scientific discovery, but the major task of this disquisition is to discuss the function of irrational factors in scientific discovery which takes the emotion as example. This thesis simply defines the rational factors and irrational factors and points out that the irrational factors have the characters of emergency, instantaneousness, illogicality, non-consciousness, non-language and so on, and discusses function of inspiring, promoting, exploding and adjusting of the irrational factors to the human cognition. At the same time, this thesis classifies the emotion in irrational factors, studies the functional mode of aesthetic feeling in scientific discovery, and analyzes the scientific aesthetic feeling which takes the China's CHANG'E Project as example. Lastly, this thesis discusses the right attitudes to the rational factors and irrational factors which are supplementing each other and can't do one thing and neglect another. The irrational factors are blindfold without rational factors and the rational factors are inane and stark without irrational factors, so the rational factors and irrational factors should be banded together to exert positive function in scientific discovery.
