| World War II is so far the largest war broke out on this planet, which brings the most serious casualties and losses. It is the theme "World War II" that constantly attracts the writers around the world to perform, explore and refine, thus emerge a large quantity of excellent and celebrated works. As one of the main battlefields of World War II, China was invaded and devastated by the Japanese imperialists, the anti-Japanese literature works have been constantly emerging in the land of China. Lin Yutang, the renowned Chinese writers in the Western world, denounced with grief and indignation to the Western world the heinous crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in China. In the domestic literature critics of China, there are some defects on the study of Lin Yutang about his anti-Japanese subject. On the contrary, the focuses are usually on his philosophy of life, subject of female, religion and culture. The research of his anti-Japanese subject is seldom explored; neither is the comparative study made between his works and the other "World War II" novels in and out of China.《Moment In Beijing》and《A Leaf In The Wind》are the English novels written by Lin Yutang during the Anti-Japanese war, in this paper, these two novels are regarded as the anti-Japanese context novels, in the big back- ground of the global anti-fascist war context novels, the writing characteristics in Lin Yutang's two novels were analyzed to reflect the unique aspects among the global "World War II" context novels. The paper has several sections, background of the global anti-fascist war novels, the current status quo on study of Lin Yutang, the writing characteristics analyses of these two novels among the global war context novels, the horizontal comparison with the same subject novels and the reasons behind Lin Yutang's unique perspectives and approaches in these two novels reflect the diversity in the creation of anti-fascism novels of the world. Meanwhile, the paper also attempts to explore such unique ideological connotations of Lin Yutang which reflect in these two novels as his "War and Peace", "family and country". |
