Michel Foucault (1926-1984) is one of the most important ideologists in the 20th century. His influence spreads into the different fields of sociology, politics, psychiatry, medicine, psychology, art and literature.The conceptions about Discourse and Power of Discourse are the main issues which Foucault focuses on. His basic way of investigation comes from discourse. Recently, the academy in mainland China uses and explores the idea of Power of Discourse too much. However, there are a few to pack up and analyze Foucault's theory of Power of Discourse systematically. Therefore, there is still vast space to exploit the notion.The theory of Foucault's Power of Discourse is the research target of this thesis. There are four parts in the thesis: the first part will discuss the research of discourse from the mainland academy, meanwhile, there are also the Foucault's understanding on power of discourse and the construction of power of discourse. The second part pays attention to the theory of power, the relationship of power of discourse and history and genealogy. This part will also discuss how the power of discourse controls life. The third part focuses on the history of lunatic and penalty and battle. This part will pack up the configuration of history in order to analyze the evolvement of the Power of Discourse and the construction of discourse. The last part will analyze the discourse of sex. This part will compare the ancient Greek with the modern people's sex discourse for analyzing the use of power of discourse on sex,love and marriage. Meanwhile, this part will also discuss the construction on sex discourse.
