Taboo is the production by which people bind their behavior self-consciously to awe gods, it is the instinctive outcome of tending benefits and escaping misfortunes and belongs to the category of negative witchcraft. Taboo developed in the foundation that"all things have deity"and adored all spiritual beings of Han dynasty. In nowdays, we can find a lot of phenomenan of taboo in Han dynasty by reading the excaved documets with handed down documents.Taboo had a great influcent to the society life and the behavior way of the people in Han dynasty. Therefore, we believe that study the phenomenance of taboo in Han dynasty will be helpful to rebuild the entire and solid society of Han dynasty.The main content presented in this thesie can be summarize as follow:The first chapter is about the definiton of taboo of Han dynasty. The second chapter discusses the classify of the taboo of Han dynasty. In this part we conclude the most taboo and split them to three,social life taboo and social produce taboo and the other taboo. The social life taboo mainly conclude clothes taboo; food taboo; buiding;traveling; marrige; burial.The social production taboo contain: farming; fishing; Fish breeding and poultry raising;The last part include: Government affairs; Military affairs; Astronomical phenomena Bathing; Crying; Enterment; Learning; These Han taboo seemed disorder but they have a clear logical chain.Thus we combined excaved documents with handed down documents, absored the reserch achievement of other schoolers, then discuss the reason of taboo in Han dynasty in next chapter. The third chapter analysis the reasons of the taboo of Han dynasty. According to the amount of taboo phenomenon, we could conclude that the reason of the taboo in Han. On the one hand, the superstition had caused to the taboo. On the other hand, the taboo abosorbed the experience of social life and the traditional feudal ethics and rite.The forth chapter presents the influcence of the taboo of Han dynasty. There are two aspects of the influcence of the taboo in Han dynasty, active affects and inactive affects. The active affects include: 1. It was helpful to offer long traditional virtue, developing and expanding benefiting morality politely. For example,"Forbid to rebuild the west house."The criminal not permited to their families tomb."2.Some of the taboo could promote the fine habits and customs to fostering the people. 3.Some of the taboo developed festival during the long years. 4.The taboo have a civilize function.The inactive affect contains that:1.Large amount of farm work taboo, had wasted the masses time and had caused an agriculture production loss. 2.Some of the taboo having confined the thought of people, aggravated people's spirit load and had caused a lot of inconvenience to people , even endangered to personal life. 3.Some of the taboo had aggravate the sex discrimination in the Han dynasty.
