In the recent 20 years, the research theses on the Tale of Genji are too numerous to mention one by one. But the article synthesizing domestic research hasn't yet come out. This thesis is a new attempt. From the point of literature statistics and the analyses of data, the thesis analyzes the"Tale of Genji"of 20 years in China and proposes some viewpoints on the future study to make domestic researchers know the direction and achievements better.The thesis analyzes domestic research from the following points. Firstly, from The Tale of Genji of the world context, it introduces the study of the book in the world to show its important status in the world to show its important status in the world literature treasury. Especially in Japan, just like"Hongloumeng Research"in China,"The Tale of Genji"is an"Important Research"which plays an important role in classical literature. The research achievements from version to textual research of the characters, from word expressions to main idea are fruitful than any literature works of the same period.Secondly, the author analyzes the statistics data of the research study and finds some rules and characteristic of the research from the media -translation of the works, the publishment of the works and the holding of the academic conferences with the combination of the chart. The research of China is developing from unitary to multi- ,,relating to more subjects. The researchers are becoming more and more; the number of the theses published in domestic core journal is increasing. In addition ,as to the research method, the main one is comparative literature which makes great achievements. It reflects from one aspect that the research on The Tale of Genji in China will continue to take comparative literature as the main method.According to the analytic statistics, the author of this thesis points out the inadequacy of the research; meanwhile puts forward the viewpoint of the future study. It can be observed that although the recent 20 years'research has been productive, inadequacy exists especially in the field of comparative literature. The comparison between Pluralism and"The Red Mansion Dream"seemingly set the mode of thought. Based on the work of"The Red Mansion Dream", most theses deliberately piece the similarities of those two works together from the point of view of the native culture. Nevertheless seldom intend to discover the differences in culture. Domestic research has been confined in the macroscopic and rough aspects lacking microscopic and detailed studies. Secondly, the shortage of translation professionals results in the insufficiency of the latest research resources available. In addition, due to being no professional research institutions at present, systematic academic research cannot be formed. Consequently, domestic research has been intermittent without duration.Aiming at the inadequacy of the domestic study, suggestions are presented at the end.Firstly, researchers and teachers of Japanese should be encouraged to introduce the latest research products in Japan to Chinese readers and researchers in time. Secondly, detailed research definitely will be the focus of the future study. Only the specific and microscopic research can seize the emphasis and direct the explicit subjectAdditionally, international communication including frequent international discussion and sending abroad domestic scholars to Japan to study will become an effective approach to create a new situation of the domestic research.
