The translation strategy is composed of two subsystems:complete translation and varied translation.Varied translation contains 8 strategies:addition,reduce,edition,report,condensation,combination,adaption,imitation.Review is one of the corresponding methods of translation variation strategy "addition".Review is a combination of summarized translation and comments.Review is a translation variation activity summarizing lots of foreign literatures and making comments.The translation method can help readers learn research status and development tendency,find the new subject.But at present,the study of review is not plentiful in the world.Based on the translation variation theory,the thesis researched the review from its definition,processes,units,methodologies,principle and functions by analyzing abundant examples,and established the comprehensive and all-around review methodology.The research's aim is to give readers an explicit and clear understanding about review,enrich the theoretical system of translation variation,provide a methodology guidance for translation practice.
