Sculpture, as matter form of human spirit, is different from other arts such as paintings. From the beginning, sculpture is destined to dependant on material .Whatever the shape looks like, he sculpture cannot exist without the material and relevant skill. Up to the development of human civilization and technique, the usage of material in sculpture is wider and wider. especially at the present. Material develops with the step of sculpture. Other than the clear of sculpture, material develops behind the sculpture's surface. Now the usage of material has transferred from matter shape to applied technology, social conception and humanity value. Material is becoming an important factor for people to use, concern and think in contemporary sculpture art. It acts not only as a role of material or technique carrier but also changes into rich artistic language to connect the aesthetic value of material itself with the sculptors' conception.
