The Embodiment Of Geometry Aesthetic Feeling In Modern Jewelry Design

We could find geometric dermatoglyphic patterns everywhere, not only in our daily life but also in the nature. This kind of existence of beauty is everywhere. Of course, it is not a kind of art itself, but is could be the necessary material in the process of art design. The limited contracted geometric figure could not only spell every phenomenon in the world but also confer people a wonderful fantasy. Based on these advantages, geometric figure is also wildly used in jewelry design.In my paper, I select the French costume jewelry deign of the 20th century as a base point of my research, mainly because of the following two reasons. First, as a worldwide vogue and luxury center, the jewelry development of French also leads the trend of the Europe and the world. Second, the jewelry design style of the French 20th century has developed and improved greatly. The costume jewelry design is the most typical among all the jewelry style. From the complicated figural art to the brief abstract art, geometric figure plays a more and more important role in the process of jewelry design. Based on the research of this period, we could also get some illumination on the direction of modern jewelry design orientation to some extent.As the times progress and society advances, jewelry design has became an important part of modern art, which express methods also develops into many forms. I show how the inside beauty and value of geometric figures express mainly in two directions: graphic design and three-dimensional design.The dual character of existence decides that while the geometric figure is bringing its advantages to the process of jewelry design, it also shows some disadvantages, such as the excessive mechanical simple and systematic patterns. How to solve these problems and finally realize the spiritualism, luxury and individual characters of the jewelry? We could not only resolve to the support of the design theory but also form arrangement of different colors. Human's imagination has no limits or boundaries. Once we settled these disadvantages of geometric figure, we could fully use its advantage to design elegant and unique jewelry to people.
