Evaluating the literary extent of Yang Xiong's whole life, we could conclude that his accomplishments have a strong relationship with Ba-Shu civilization. It's really a pity that literators havn't paid more attention to the contribution of Yang Xiong to Ba-Shu civilization and the correlative research. Based on this point, this thesis tries to unfold another view point of Yang Xiong and Ba-Shu civilization. The two literatures,"Ode to the Capital of Shu Kingdom"and"Imperial Biography of the King of Shu", both are inclusive of the history in Ancient Shu before Han Dynasty. The first article focuses on the capital of Shu Kingdom and the history, which is called as the first pioneer of Ba-Shu Civilization. To discuss the contribution of Yang Xiong to Ba-Shu Civilization, the two books play an important role. However, the scholars now doubt whether these literatures are pseudographs or not? Clarification of such books is the base of the further discussion. After analyzing, it's found out that who thinks of them as pseudographs has not provided convinced evidences and their points are mainly deduced. Therefore, it is unreasonable to indicate the two books are not written by Yang Xiong. The Ba-Shu history reported in the two books involves the kings of Ancient Shu Dynasty and the corresponding happened histories, a series of legends about kings of Ancient Shu, construction of the capital of Shu Kingdom and social customs of human beings in Qing and Han Dynasty, most of these contents are the initial records about Ancient Shu history, which has an outstanding and irreplaceable historical value. Yang Xiong has set forth the King of Shu as the theme of"Inscription of Chengdu City"and"Ode to the Capital of Shu Kingdom", but the most important contribution to the Ba-Shu Civilization is the second book, which is thought of as the first time to make the Ancient Shu as the focus in Ba-Shu Civilization History and to write ode to the capital after that time. All these directly have an influence on another"Ode to the Capital of Shu Kingdom"by Zuo Si. In Ba-Shu Civilization history, so many literators wrote books on Chengdu City, the capital of Shu Kingdom. Only Yang Xiong could be thought of as the most impressive composer."Tai Xuan"initiates to set a good example to understand"Yi"according to Chuang-tzu and indicates the characters of paying much attention to skill and calculation. These affect the successive litterateurs'understanding of"Yi". The three characters could be found in Ba-Shu Yi theory after that time. Go back to the forth, it's Yang Xiong who make this. Another literature,"Fang Yan"not only memorizes the dialects in Ba-Shu Kingdom for the first time, but also realizes that the dialects in Ba-Shu Kingdom before and during the West Han Dynasty are similar with that in Qing and Jin Dynasty, popular languages and formal languages in West Han Dynasty. For Ba-Shu dialect,"Fang Yan"is the first book to record the dialects accurately and comprehensively.
