He was born in a humble family with great ambition. He was talented but short lived. Incarnating all the bitters and hardships of a man of letters from the bottom of the society, Huang became a prototype of a Poor Scholar of the millenarianism. His poems concerned with his personal experience and the ups and downs of his time, presenting a true picture of the living conditions and the state of mind of the scholars who lived in the bottom of the society, showing the awareness disenchantment of the literary individuals of the Qinlong period. Distinct from other numerous poor scholars'poems, Huang's poems, with a profound penetrating power which has been extending to the modern times, enjoys a unique aesthetic value and social cognitive significance. Therefore, for more than 200 years, his poems have received much concern and attention from the intellectuals and quite a many works and books of great values on Huang Zhongze and his poems have been published ever since. All poems reflect the poets'personality. Huang Zhongze is a talented poet with straightness and romantic sentimental temperament, high-hearted character. Yet he suffered from poverty, ailments, loneliness and hardships. Despite all this, the poet would never give in to fate. He behaved unruly with a spirit of freedom. He pursued poetry for art's sake. All these factors are reflected in his poems.Poetriness shows the nature of a poet. It's a natural representation of a poet's personality tendency toward trueness, goodness and beauty. Huang Zhongze exists in the form of Poems. His existence sounds loud and clear thanks to his poems. The poems are the"exposition of the soul"of the poet. On the one hand, his poems represent his sentimental temperament; and on the other hand, unfold his wild personality characteristics. The two aspects shine upon each other, giving a complete picture of Huang Zhongze's personality.Personality refers to style. Huang Zhongze's poems are an integration of his life experience, personality and life attitude, having two distinct features: sorrow and heroism. In each of his poems, the wildness and sorrow can often be seen together. The style is virtually a reflection of Huang as a pure poet in the aesthetic sphere. The third part gives an outline of Huang Zhongze's status in the Parnassus of the Qing Dynasty and an appraisal. The charm of a piece of work comes from the author's personality charm. Huang Zhongze lived in the world for only 35 years. A passion of heroism and sorrow pervades in each poem in his A Collection of Liangdangxuan, shouting out a"sound of sorrow in a prosperous times". His personality and poetriness have a social cognitive significance and a unique creative artistic value which can not be replaced in the Parnassus of the Middle Qing Dynasty. The fact that Huang Zhongze's poems enjoy a larger and larger readership 200 hundred years after the poet's death is a convincing demonstration of this point.
