Creative Thoughts And Systematic Construction

Kang Baiqing, was a prominent Chinese poet and new poetry theorist in Chinese new poem initial stage. He had published politic comments, new poems, and was famous for his unique, unrestrained, and unconventional style. He reached the peak of his by his only poetics: My Views on Modern Chinese Poetry, which was considered to be one of the most important fruit in initial stage of Chinese new poetry theories. Kang had made great contributions in poetry composing. What's more, he had unique interpretation in the construction of new poetry theory and had a poetic elucidation about style criticism, whereas My Views on Modern Chinese Poetry has its creativeness and systematicness. However, comparing to Kang's great contribution, his name has been seldom mentioned in the history of Chinese modern literature and poetry, i.e., the status people granted him in literature history had lagged far behind his contribution to this area.With the coming of this new century, although there were more researches on Kang Baiqing, the attention we put on him is still far from enough. Under such circumstances, this thesis, serves as an echo to the expectations to change this situation.The whole thesis is divided into four parts. Part one is an introduction in which the author reviews the previous researches in Kang's theories, and then introduces the purpose and significance of the present study. In part two, which is Chapter One of the thesis, was further divided into two sections. The first section, named the birth of My Views on Modern Chinese Poetry, gives a brief introduction to Kang's life and the social background in which his theories came into being; the second section, introduces the influence it.brings today and the author's comments was provided after that. The third part, i.e. Chapter Two, the author interprets Kang's My Views on Modern Chinese Poetry, from a multi-dimensional angle, and then, analyzes its creativeness and systematicness. The first section in this chapter is about its unrestrained and externalized, an elucidation about essence theory; the second section is about its rationality and necessity, an elucidation about occurring theory; the third section is about feeling and noble, an elucidation about works theory; the forth section is about release and creation, an elucidation about creating theory; the fifth section is about self-cultivation, an elucidation about author theory.The forth part is the conclusion, it reviews the Chinese new poetry again ever since the WUSI period, this clear line, can help us get a more objective view on the achievements of Chinese new poetry and the creativeness and systematic construction of Kang's My Views on Modern Chinese Poetry.
