A Probe Into Lu Zuofu's Construction Of Rural Education In Beibei

LuZuofu (1893-1952), Whose name was LuKuixian and alias was Zuofu, was born in Hechuan, Sichuan Province. He was a famous industrialist and social activitist in the modern society, simultaneously a prominent educator.He advocated the movement that aimed at countryside modernization through the construction of rural education in Beibei from 1927 to 1949, and had an important historical influence in the modern society of China. Studying and exploring the rural education construction which was advocated by Lu Zuofu in Beibei, summing up its experience and lesson, not only help to deepen the research of Lu Zuofu's educational practice and theory ,but also contribute to provide some profitable reference for the Construction of a New Socialist Countryside, and to advance the reform of China's rural education .This dissertation consists of 6 parts:To begin with, the introduction part of thesis outlines the rise of rural education for the transformation of modern education's status during Republic of China, explains the research reasons, profile, significance and choroid.The first part of this thesis gives an introduction to the background of the Beibei's construction which happened because of the rise of rural education movement and its own political, economic and educational situation.The second part carries on more detailed combings of the main practice construction of rural education in Beibei on the basis of introducing Lu's life experience, the stage-changes and the inherent feelings involved in education. And describes and analyses the quality and system of school education, and the form, mean and goal of folk education.The third part analyses and attributes to the effectiveness of Beibei's rural education construction, compares with Yan Yangchu and Liang Shuming's rural education, puts an end to the characteristics which include the goal of modernization, the content of Education for All, the way of education relying on industry.The fourth part gives some historical enlightenment contacting with the Construction of a New Socialist Countryside, It includes several aspects that is emphasizing the importance of education in the countryside construction , strengthening modern knowledge, skills and socialist value education, building a pluralistic education system, and creating learning-based countryside.The conclusion part makes a brief summary and analyzes of Lu's construction of rural education in Beibei in the vision of modernization throry.
