Coping ways with loneliness are important index of measuring children's mental health; it is also the important variable that affects children's peer relationship and loneliness. Research on coping ways with loneliness of children is not only the powerful complement of exiting research on loneliness, but also provides adequate material for the better understanding of its status quo and characteristic. So far, there are few researches on coping ways with loneliness of children. Systematical research on the relationship among coping ways with loneliness, peer relationship and loneliness is very lack.This thesis holds the view of "analyzing according to existing researches, theoretical analysis, tool, measure, status quo, relationship analysis". Based on the field investigation, the thesis designs "The Scale of Coping Ways with Loneliness of Children" in order to investigate it's status quo and the relationship among coping ways with loneliness, peer relationship and loneliness. This thesis has the following proposals:1. Coping ways with loneliness of children mainly is made up of these nine factors: violating discipline or rebelling, worshiping idol, self-regulating, reflection, sharing, extracurricular to studying, distancing and denial, fantasizing, pouring out. The self-design "The Scale of Coping Ways with Loneliness of Children" has been proven to be of fine validity and reliability through examination.2. On the whole, there is significant grade difference in coping ways with loneliness of children. It is gradually descended from grade 3 to 6 on violating discipline or rebelling, distancing and denial, reflection. It is gradually ascended from 3 to 6 on extracurricular to studying.3. On the whole, there is significant difference in gender. It shows that the schoolboys are higher the schoolgirls on violating discipline or rebelling, distancing and denial, sharing; the schoolgirls are higher the schoolboys on self-regulating, reflection, sharing, extracurricular to studying, pouring out.4. There is significant difference in different grades of rural area in coping ways with loneliness; it is gradually ascended from 3 to 6. City pupil's coping ways with loneliness are higher rural pupil's in grade 3.5. There is significant difference in different level of loneliness in coping ways with loneliness. On the average, children with high level of loneliness are higher children with low level of loneliness on violating discipline or rebelling, distancing and denial, fantasizing. Children with low level of loneliness are higher children with high level of loneliness on self-regulating, sharing, extracurricular to studying, pouring out, reflection.6. Significantly negative correlation was found between positive coping ways with loneliness, social preference, positive friendship quality and loneliness; significantly positive correlation was found between negative coping ways with loneliness, negative friendship quality and loneliness.7. Results from SEM indicated that coping ways with loneliness has impact on loneliness through 2 type mediator effect, coping ways with loneliness→asocial preference→loneliness; coping ways with loneliness→friendship quality→loneliness. There are indirect relation between coping ways with loneliness and loneliness through the mediator of asocial preference and friendship quality.
